We always do our utmost to produce your order as quickly as possible. However, December is a peak period for carriers, which means delivery may take a little longer than usual due to high volumes.
Some of our accessories turned out to be even more popular than we expected. They're now temporarily sold out. But no worries, new stock is arriving in a few weeks. We look forward to helping you again then!
The preparation of production is fully automated and starts directly after your order is placed. Unfortunately this means that no changes to addresses can be made.
Please check in with your local postal carrier once you receive your tracking link.

About the tiles
Our tiles are made of ceramic and are water-resistant. So perfect for kitchens and bathrooms. Would you like to use them outdoors? Then avoid direct sunlight, as this can affect the coating and colours. Feel free to send a message to info@thedutchtileproject.com if you have any questions. We are happy to think with you!
Our blank tiles are often ordered to feature in a collage with image-containing tiles. This makes for a nice wall feature! Plus, they have a unique white colour that you won't find anywhere else.
Stock & Sold out items
We do not keep stock of tiles. This is because our tiles are made-to-order, i.e. production only starts once a design has been ordered and paid for. This helps us stay as sustainable as we can and prevents us from having stock that is not sold.
We do keep stock of accessories, such as stands, LOQI bags and DIY kits. This also means that we sometimes sell out of those and they won't be available until we restock.
Some of our accessories turned out to be even more popular than we expected. They're sometimes temporarily sold out. But no worries, whenever hangers / stands / DIY kits sell out, we make sure new stock is arriving within a few weeks. Keep an eye out on the website!
Creative process
Our tiles are created using a process called sublimation, where ink is absorbed into the tile's surface under high heat and pressure. This method ensures the designs are durable, scratch-resistant, and colorfast, meaning they won’t fade over time. Each tile is handcrafted and produced to order in Amsterdam, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques.
We get our inspiration from everywhere. From Amsterdam canals to fluffy croissants or a cute dog. Anything that puts a smile on your face, is a memory of good times, inspires or represents a passion, or makes you think of a loved one. If you look closely, the world is bursting with unique stories and we aim to capture it in blue.
We release new designs every first Thursday of the month, a.k.a. Tile Drop Thursday. If you want to stay up to date on new tile releases, we recommend you to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Instagram.
Shipping & returns
Yes, we ship to nearly all countries in the world. The best way to check if that includes your country, is to go to the checkout page and see if the country is listed in the dropdown menu. If it's not, get in touch via email and we will add it to our priority list.
Our tiles are fragile, naturally. We therefore make every effort to deliver your order in perfect condition. We use sturdy packaging and bubble paper to make sure everything arrives safely.
Our tiles are made to order. Production takes approximately 3–5 working days.
Once ready, delivery takes an additional:
- 1–2 working days for orders within the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK.
- 4-6 working days for other EU countries.
- 3-5 weeks for orders outside the EU.
Please note: once your order has been handed over to the carrier, shipping times are outside our control. All delivery times provided are estimates and may vary due to factors such as carrier delays, strikes, or peak periods.
We will keep you updated on the status of your order throughout the entire process and will provide you with a tracking link via email when your order ships.

The shipping costs vary per order. It depends on the weight and where your parcel is going. The best way to check is to add your items to your cart and go to checkout. When you fill in your delivery address, it will automatically show you the shipping costs to your particular address. Orders over €75 are always free of delivery charges, worldwide.
Customs fees, local VAT, or handling charges are most of the time covered or not applicable, as we produce our tiles locally within the European Union, as well as locally in the USA and in the UK.
If you live in Switzerland and buy something online from our website, customs fees including Swiss customs duties and VAT generally apply. As of 2025, import VAT is charged on goods valued over CHF 150 (about €150), including shipping and packaging costs. If the total value exceeds this threshold, you will have to pay VAT at the Swiss rate (8.1% standard) plus any applicable customs duties depending on the product. For purchases under CHF 150, no customs duties apply but VAT still does. Additionally, there may be customs clearance fees charged by the delivery service.
All orders shipped to Canada may be subject to import duties, taxes (such as GST/HST), and handling or brokerage fees charged by Canadian customs and the delivery carrier. The customer is responsible for paying any customs duties, taxes, and related handling or brokerage fees once the parcel arrives in Canada. These costs are not included in our product prices or shipping rates. Import fees are usually collected by the carrier or postal service at or before delivery.
We always try to make international shipping as smooth as possible, but in rare occasions extra charges may be applied by your local postal service or customs. This we unfortunately don't have any control over.
Sometimes, especially for orders travelling outside the EU, the tracking link page may have a delay in showing updates. This is likely due to the parcel travelling overseas, or due to a local carrier taking over the delivery. We advise you to check the delivery progress on parcelsapp.com. This website usually shows all updates of the international journey of your order.
For our regular designs:
